Mental Distress after 1st Wave of COVID-19 among Medical Students

Aim: The aim of the current study is to evaluate mental distress facing by MBBSs students during first wave COVID-19.
 Study Design: Cross-sectional.
 Place and Duration Study: was conducted at Quaid-e Azam medical college Bahawalpur period May 2020 July 2020.
 Methodology: MBBS undergraduate were included in study. For assessing stress, questionnaire used modified form Impact Event Scale Revised (IES-R). proforma prepared using Google Docs disseminated through student’s WhatsApp groups. Data analyzed Special Package for Social Science version-20. Frequency percentages calculated qualitative variables while association Chi-square test. p-value ≤0.05 considered as significant.
 Results: About half participants female i.e. 55.2%. frequency distribution stress level among showed that majority mild 130 out total 310 (41.9%), 112 having moderate (36.2%), followed 53 with severe (17.1%) 15 (4.8%) extremely intensity stress. It also found gender socioeconomic status have a significant but year has no any reported statistically non-significant p-value.
 Conclusion: concluded experienced COVID-19 more than general population are prone develop depressive symptoms. So there need counselling session improve health our under graduates they future handlers profession.
